Using Photobooth as a video backdrop

Students can use Photobooth to deliver green screen talks

Photobooth has options to use backgrounds created by you or imported from other sources.  Once the background still shot or video is added, students can be in the picture and video/audio can be captured using a green screen approach.  These movies can be saved and imported into imovie if you want to add more features.

Some sources for video:

Discovery Streaming- every educator has an account available through the IU.

YouTube (screened by you-not good to send kids to youtube)  If you find a video tha you want to use under Fair Use for projects, you can do the following:

Locate the video you want to use

When the video url is in the address bar,  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1Im20BAtaQ)  click in front of the y in youtube and type in the word kick  (http://www.kickyoutube.com/watch?v=f1Im20BAtaQ).  You will get a different page that has an option at the top to download the video.

When these are imported into PhotoBooth, audio will not be imported (usually).  This allows the students to add their own audio.
